Do I need to bring my own lock?

 

Yes, you need to supply your own lock.  Preferably a disc lock.  They are more secure, and it will lower your deductible if you ever must make an insurance claim.

 

What is the blue lock on my unit?

 

We use a lock system to increase security to the units.  The blue lock means the unit is available. When you rent a unit, we will send you a unique combo code to the blue lock.

 

What do I do when I receive my unique lock code?

 

You’ll unlock the blue lock and place your items in your unit.  Place your own lock on your unit.  Return our lock to the lock box located on the door on the B-Building next to the air conditioning unit.

 

How long can I store for?

 

Our minimum charge is one month. After that, your rental period is month to month, for as long or as short a time you need.

 

Are the contents of my storage space insured?

 

It is mandatory at Back Forty Storage to have insurance on your contents.  We’ve made it easy for you to select a low-cost insurance plan during the renal process.  You may also provide proof of your own insurance.

 

Does Back Forty Storage require a deposit?

 

There is a one-time security deposit charge of $25.  You will be refunded this when you move out of your unit and there is no damage to the unit.

 

Who else has access to my storage unit?

 

Once you are assigned a unit, you store it and you lock it.  Therefore, only those whom you wish to have access to your unit have access.

 

Is there a minimum lease term requirement?

 

Leases are on a month-to-month basis, with no long-term commitment required.

 

Can I store my vehicle in my storage unit?

 

We have outside parking spaces for rent. Due to insurance restrictions, you may not store vehicles inside the units.

 

Do any of the units have power to them?

 

No, there is no power in any of the units.

 

Are any of the unit’s climate controlled?

 

Yes, we have 10’x10’ and 10’x15’ climate-controlled units. 

 

Does Back Forty Storage offer discounts?

 

Yes, we do! We offer military (active/veteran/reserve), first responder, senior citizen, and multi-unit discounts.  Identification as proof is required.

Is the facility secure?

Yes, the facility is entirely fenced in.  There is a gate at the entrance, and you will receive a unique gate code assigned only to you.  The premises is well lit and monitored by a video and audio security system.

  

Do you accept credit cards?

 

Yes, we accept Visa, Master, & Discover Cards, American Express.  You can also sign up for ACH that is automatically deducted from your checking account on the 1st of each month.
